Alex Avella is an Italian director born 1991, living in Milan, italy.

He grows up between Italy and Spain, living between Barcelona and Milan for most of his youth. He attends the NABA (New Academy of Fine Arts) graduating in 2014 in Media Design & Multimedia Arts.

He develops a taste in direction and visual effects, and after founding and working as a director in the experimental duo named “To Guys”, directing shorts, music videos and commercials in the scene of Milan, he starts his career as a single freelance director. Since then, he’s worked with the top notch adv agencies such as DLVBBDO, Leo Burnett, McCann, Dude, J. Walter Thompson.

During his career he specialises in compositing and vfx, focusing his directing path into discovering the possibilities behind the magic of post-production, and recreating an original world in which portray his characters, born from an international point of view.

Every project is a journey through a world existing only for so many seconds. Framing that world in the most engaging and dynamic way, constantly engaging the viewer through original transitions and fast camera movements is what mostly characterises his films.

With over 10 years of experience in the advertising industry, Alex has become known for his dynamic style and innovative approach to storytelling.
